Array ( [sid] => 8624 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => Everything [time] => 2002-12-15 13:30:00 [hometext] => I wrote this for a school harvest festival. I personally think it's a bit trite and could do with more work. Let me know what you think! [bodytext] => I lost Everything.
I looked in all the usual places and I couldn’t find it.
I looked in the cupboard, in the Horn of Plenty.
I looked in the vaults of the Bank in the City.
I looked on every page of the Books of Knowledge,
But I couldn’t find it anywhere.

I walked along the street asking all the people there
But they didn’t know where Everything could be.
A lady said the Government had hidden it away.
A man thought he’d seen it in a villa by the sea.
An old man said he’d had it when his wife was still alive
But she’d been gone for ages now; he didn’t have a clue.

At last, I tried a little child, playing in the sand.
He told me where to find it and sure enough, I did -
He’d had it in his pocket all the time.
Mummy had given it to him when she’d kissed him on the head.
He shared a little bit with me, and I went home, to bed.

i wouldn't call it trite. you have a cool idea here and a great way of laying it out.

I wouldn't change it. Just leave it the way it is. It's very well written. *S* Cynthia
