Array ( [sid] => 85911 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Perpetual Journey [time] => 2005-02-27 17:09:58 [hometext] => As Andrew has scrawled: Another day has passed/ But the night is still too young for sleep/ What with thoughts that surface/ And ink that asks to be spent....I thank him for my motivation~~ [bodytext] =>

I close my eyes and melt to dreams
Of yesterday and it’s countless themes
~
An entire day of you and I
Our lives together
Our souls combined
Our families our thoughts and fun
A day’s events
And our lives have begun

A morning’s drive into the day
It’s calm and quiet
Bright and briskly array’d
The daytime shows a lot to see
A lot to take in
And our families
Some escapades, the playful kind
Quaint yet silly
Our fingers entwined

While driving home, the sun does set
But the day’s journey
Continues yet
A straight-stretched road cranes out ahead
The orange sunglow
And shadows red
I cock my head as I reflect
On all the ways
That we connect
A song plays on the radio
The tune is new
But you I know
The lyrics fit our melody
I smile
At all the things to be
I could keep driving on this road
For I’m content
With this live load

But home we go and there we get
And cuddle, hug
And—sun-like—set
While I’m content you’re wanting more
And so alone
You shall implore
Except you needn’t be alone
That’s just one thing
I don’t condone
The tears fall as I tell you this
You take my tears
With just one kiss
But all in all within one day
We’ve gained much more
Than words portray

A straight-stretched road cranes out ahead
The orange sunglow
And shadows red
I cock my head as I reflect
On all the ways
That we connect
A song plays on the radio
The tune is new
But you I know
The lyrics fit our melody
I smile
At all the things to be
I could keep driving on this road
For I’m content
With this live load

Beautifully done! I feel that reflecting on such memories is one of the ways that lonely or potentially hard times get lifted. If we can teach ourselves to do so well.

Well done, well done indeed.

Lovely, Chels... but so much more at the same time. I'm with Jarred -- the repeated lines are a treasure... I love their flow and meaning, moreover - I love that they appear again at the end... to me, it was particularly poignant that they did... a symbol, I think, that the journey is moving forward (albiet slowly) in the right direction.

This one... left me smiling,
