Array ( [sid] => 84158 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Faded Memories [time] => 2005-02-12 18:38:40 [hometext] => Dont really know where this came from, but its kind of part of a dream I keep having but I forget most of it in the morning. This poem is somewhat like the other poem I posted. But tell me what you think! [bodytext] => Faded Memories

Time turns the pages of a life gone by
Flashing moments of love, joy, pain, and death
Before my eyes like the memories of a dream
Of a night long lost to its own darkness

Tears flood my eyes at the remembrance
Of a time when emotions still stirred in me
When red blood poured through my veins
And love was still a young girls dream

My heart yearns for the years lost long ago
Yet knowing that life shall never return
To my broken body, lost in the nights ecstasy
Never to see the light of love and life again

I pray for those who I loved with all my being
That they may find the peace I’ve lost
And that love shall not forsake them
In times of death and destruction

My body begins to grow numb with emptiness
As the light of my memories fade to black
And the darkness embraces me once more
With the night calling me home
Forever losing my faded memories

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
