[hometext] => A poem for my father
[bodytext] => A spark of flame and fiery coals erupt, The blackened soot of ash and smoke unite, The heat of heat a summer's breeze disrupt, And in his eyes reflects the flickered light. A glove worn thin with many catches made, Its oily surface tan under the sun, He throws to me despite the lighting fade, The sky a bluish bronze and now we're done. It's strength I see unchanging in his eyes, For now the words behind his lips will stay, Until the day it comes for our goodbyes, And I can think of what we both will say. The heat is always there for us to feel, And in my hand his glove is always real.
