Accept me for who I am
Don’t try to make me something I’m not
I’m still the person you first met
The one you fell in love with, I thought

Why does the ring around your finger?
Give you the mandate for change
Doesn’t a relationship based on 50/50?
Mean we both have to rearrange

I’m willing to meet you half way
Honestly, I’ll go the extra mile
But don’t push too hard
Or I’ll be crying fail

In this first year of marriage
It’s easy to come undone
Learning to adjust to one another
Is like playing with a gun

But the love that brought us together
Will have to lead us on
As we learn to accept one another
And grow a closer bond

Great write, honestly I wish my ex husband had been more open minded and a heck of a lot less adulterous. Keep up the good work!
