The day's of yesteryear where have they gone?, When parent's and children had a special bond. Where love and honor was the style of the day, When the love of god was the way. Where people talked and had a care, It seem's today those feeling's are rare. When landing on the moon made us proud, Now it seem's everything is loud. Where a handshake and word of honor meant so much, When your mom said I love you a bunch. Those day's of yesteryear, again those day's? No I fear.

This is wonderful, and so true, so deep, and just thoughtful. But the rhyme.....maybe if you reread it, you see the rhyme is forced.....rhyme should flow, so as not to sound chidish.

Okay brother now I'm singing "YESTERDAY...
ALL MY TROUBLES SEEM SO FAR AWAY, NOW IT LOOKS AS THOUGH THEY'RE HERE TO STAY...OH I BELIEVE IN YESTERDAY' Yesteryear just reminded me of that Beatles song. Grateful Dead is #1 to me but I love the Beatles too. We named our son Jude after the tune Hey Jude. I'm sure your familiar. Anyway loved the write. Much peace to you. Laura

hola phillip. this was an okay poem to your standards, very good for others around here, but i think this can be written better. formatting into stanzas would be a good start. sorry im a nitpick about stanzas...

i agree yesteryear is a perfect title for this poem , and its true life has changed yet most people dont seem to care for the small stuff.
