I didn’t know you very well
But when I heard the news that
You were gone, I felt so sad and shocked
They had to be wrong
You were certainly loved by everyone
Your parents and your brother
They all valued you so
A daughter and friend like no other
You asked me to borrow my sharpener
This was the last thing you said to me
At the time I didn’t realize
It would be the last thing you’d ever say to me
I can’t help but feel guilty
I wish I made the effort to get
To know you better
But its too late, you’re gone
So im writing you this letter
I remember you as a punk
I hear you were a lover of music
I thank you for being so kind
No harsh words about you I can find
I still think of you often
One year it has been
Now you’re soul is at rest
I’m sure the ends of heaven you have seen
I don’t think ill ever understand
How a beautiful person can just die
And suddenly leave this earth
It’s tragic and I contemplate why?
If I could turn back time
I’d give anything to warn you
“Please Amy don’t get in that car”
So the ones you love wouldn’t have to mourn
And you’d keep shining like a star
It’s amazing how we don’t realize
What we’ve got until it’s gone
Just know everyone misses you Amy
Their all crying while trying to be strong
Dear Amy
I really miss you too….
If I could id say “God take me instead”
I want to give my heart to you
