Array ( [sid] => 7818 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => Undeserving [time] => 2002-12-02 07:00:00 [hometext] => I actually just started writing the first verse just for the heck of it, then decided to add the second when I was halfway through the first. [bodytext] => I stumble through this wasteland
Despairing, no hope
The need to end it all
Suppresses all else
Why can't I escape
From this hell known as life?
Am I here for the amusement
Of some cruel, cosmic being?
Please let me die
I don't care anymore
Nothing else matters
But that I break free
From this pseudo-existence
Mired in meaninglessness
Still I stagger on
Given no relief
Forced against my will to live
Mind filled to overflowing
With burning agony
I scream at the sky
Why did you put me here?
To laugh at my pain?
What did I do
To deserve such a fate?

A beam of light
Stabs down through the haze
And I lift my lifeless eyes
In my corpse-like face
Then a breeze smelling
Of somewhere beyond
Beyond this hellish terrain
Bringing images of life
And vitality unknown
To me thus far
Dull eyes blink in wonder
What has brought this change?
Then arms lift me up
I rise from the mire
Mind and body whole
For the first time
Given freedom from pain
My feet placed upon rock
No more do I stagger
Through the mud and the clay
Tears of joy spill down
From my newly healed eyes
And one thought fills
My unburdened mind:
Undeserving
