how do i paint sorrow
my heart splitting open
the numbing of my soul?
i feel my essence
streaming from my center
all my emotions rushing past.
and i try to hold them in
but they slip through.
and a new fear retches in my scream
as twilight comes again.
my heart is spilling all her tears.
and sadness leaves
taking with her, all my fervor.
now my memories are like old photographs
faded colors without depth.
i no longer feel.

(the painting)
on my knees
everything is gray beneath my waist
my chest blown open.
the color blue is
streaming from my center
purple and green swirl upwards.
and i try to hold my colors in
but they slip through my fingers.
my head bent back, mouth open too wide
screaming yellow, into gray sky.
red tears drip from my eyes
and puddle till they grow heavy.
then falling into gray
they melt away.
and all my colors leave
till i am just a shadow
of what i used to be.

very power and original.
this was very good,
"screaming yellow, into gray sky.
red tears drip from my eyes"
