Array ( [sid] => 77541 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Do You Love Her? [time] => 2004-12-28 16:38:08 [hometext] => this is not a jealous lover poem... 'her' is 'me' if you have questions about that, comment [bodytext] => she is the question posed
the response that lingers in the air
and I can almost see
her long, dark hair
and those eyes
that have loved and will love again
those dark eyes
that haunt me as I sleep
and I wake,
tangled in sheets and the meanest of thoughts
do you love her?
God, don’t want to do this dance anymore
twirl around you and your words
I am the mirror image
that stares at her as she walks by
and it’s almost unreal
that I can reach out and touch her
not some phantom of my nightmare
she’s so real that it burns
this walking truth, this mobile query
do you love her?
but any blind fool can feel
your tone when you say her name
but then my ears were always shut to the possibility
never quite prepared to let myself crash
just tell me because I’ve hit every branch down from your love
and the world is still spinning
tell me
do you love her?

This has got to be the best poem I've read in a week.

You have a certain style that's really a pleasure to read. A blend of intense emotion with -for lack of a better word- elegant word choice and phrasing . . . first two lines were amazing.

Beautiful job; I'll definitely be checking out your neck of YPDC's woods from now on.
