This was hard to write..its emotional to me because its something i dont often talk about. [bodytext] => You promise me you`ll be there
Again i`ll wait by the door
Years of watching out that door,
Years of you letting me down
It still hurts.
It still kills me just a little
Each time you pick the bottle over me.

Growing up,
You were never there.
You broke our home, and you paid the price.
Leaving when you woke up,
Only returning in time to pass out,
Then leaving again,
returning in the wee hours.

I remember running up the stairs when i heard you come home
At such a young age, i knew what that sound meant.
It meant yelling, pushing..
It meant our home would split a little more that night.

I hated my childhood,
You ruined it for me.
The bottle controled your every move.
Your every word.
It even controled me.

Always choosing my words carefully.
Knowing one slip up would mean another nightmare.
I would have thought you would have learned your lesson after we left,
but wrong was I,
You`ll always be the same man.
You`ll always let me down.

After all these years
Of constantly feeling unprotected
Im finally used to it.
Im used to the feeling of never feeling secure,
Always prepared for another let down.

Now, the words "I Promise"
Mean nothing to me.
They even hurt.
I know its just another lie in progress.

So take another drink,
Let me down again.
Drive away,
I`ll watch you crash,
And i`ll tell you,
Not a single tear will fall.
Yoi`ve done this to yourself.
You`ve become what you've always hated.
And you wont stop now.

I never knew my dad but i can relate to this somehow, just think of it this way. Its his loss for not knowing what a great person you are, courage is what we need most and with this write you have shown it to us. May you find inner peace soon.

Hugs,
Jane x

Kay, I told you this write was amazing, and it looks like everyone else thought so too! I know how hard this was for you to write, but Im glad you did. Did you ever think of showing it to your dad? Maybe it would knock some sense into his head. Just a thought. Well anyways, keep up the great work. And remember I love you bunches!!

Wow Kaylee, this really tweaked my nips...really burnt my ass...cuz I know what this is like...I know all too well...This write was amazing just for the simple fact that it was pure emotion, absolutely nothing else, just emotion is what made this excellent
