In this hollow cliche of a shadow
The sun shines through a cookie cutter angel
To shine loves effigy
A shadow in this world that covers feelings
The feelings of lost hearts, souls
Lost loves
Like shattered doves
But what are feelings without a congruence
I like to call them emotions
Emotions breaking the flood gate
Letting go the pent up, built up, held up
Flood of fragile tears
It seems nobody knows what emotions are anymore
But an unrelentlessly shattered heart
Would release them from the dam
Everyone is too afraid to love
Like love has become a disease
Like cancer
And I'm happily infected [comments] => 4 [counter] => 181 [topic] => 48 [informant] => eyesxcriedxout1989 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )

“The sun shines through a cookie cutter angel”
I particularly enjoyed deciphering this line.
Is this the representation of superficiality or perhaps something greater… perhaps the lack of emotion.
Angels are a popular reference in poems and such, yet you have broken the cliché and demonstrated a new concept, much like the effect of a pun.
Your poem is deep in value, highly expressive and significant.
I have attempted to express my emotions within many of my pieces, yet somewhat finding it difficult to pin-point specific feelings.
I really do fancy your words.
- Romanticist.
