I almost lost the strength to turn and walk away.
You see the sight that I saw was nothing out of the ordinary,
just a father with his daughter,
he was reading her a story.
I wish I would have gotton the chance to know you,
and all the things I like to do, which you like to do too.
What color did your eyes change when you were sad,
and how did you feel the the first time you
heard me say "Dad"?
Would you have heald my hand when I had a nightmare?
Would you have laughed at those pink pajamas
I thought I always had to wear?
You see it's for you today I shed a tear,
for forgetting what I do remember has lately
become my biggest fear.

This hit a nerve in me and made me cry. You were so young to loose a parent. But remember you will never forget everything about your dad. There is one special little thing that will live in your heart everyday that you live, that is you are his child a part of him. That you will always have and hold onto, and this will keep your memory alive. This is very touching.
