you’ve got relationships like roadmaps that stretch across the world
complete with picturesque backdrops of some idealistic life you’ll never lead

i’ve got a bottle for every regret
and cirrhosis to ail my broken heart

like a train derailed
i’m knuckling through the dirt
feeling around for something
mildly familiar

and i’m drunker than i’ve ever been
choreographing my revenge.
scrawling in ink the slightest hint
to bring you misery.

but i forget
it’s useless
you’re inhuman
vengeance is wasted on the heartless. [comments] => 5 [counter] => 219 [topic] => 13 [informant] => summers [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => DarkPoetry )

Wow . . . definitely earns the Best Poem I've Read Today award. Beautiful job; I could read this again and again and again. Actually, now that I think of that, I think I will. *goes off to reread*
