In memory, a candle burns
Breaking then behind the door
I beg no one for something more
Recklessness of thought descends
Unwitting victim, life, suspends

Repeatedly, the story’s told
Half is missing from the whole
Wisdom, now, need not apply
Truth is seen through closed eyes
Confessing naught what might offend
Never though, do hearts pretend

Now, roses seem to matter less
They’re merely tokens of what’s left
Petals dried by forgotten time
Pitied dots on a wayward line
To a future without, I shall attend
On this, I’m certain, peace depends

As pink converts to mossy green
I set myself and dare to dream
With tears continuing to cascade
A desperate wish is quietly made
Though fear has yet to find an end
Tomorrow, I know, the sun ascends

The roses always fade away and tomorrow always comes. This is heartfelt and real. I have spent many a tearful night, and I can relate. Lovely words from a lovely woman.

Great rhyming, but much more....there are some really potent lines in your poem. There certainly seems to be a heartfelt message.

Masterful write, I really liked it!

Fear not fair maiden ~
For as sure as the sun doth rise on the morrow, the winds shall blow away thy sorrow. Doubt and fear will fall away, as dreams reborn appear one day. Tears of pain, to joy will turn and from dying embers passions burn. Know this, do I with all heart ... for tomorrow brings a brand new start.

I call to the four corners and the winds that blow therein ~ Take me to my future for I stand ready ! Do your worst, for though I may bend ... I shant be broken.

Nazzy ~

I would love to take each line here and make a comment....how about just the stanzas...

Nope ..that was way too long, had to delete it...

Soooo Overall....Nope deleted that too..sheesh

OK in a nutshell..

There is something, (someone?) missing in your life that seems to be unatainable. Therefore comes great sadness, then trying to accept it while maintaining hope.
Yet underneath the lines I see the acceptance as being forced, there is almost a giving up here.

Yet the answer is here within your own lines
"Never though, do hearts pretend"
Kepp faith, DON"T give up....and don't let go of your dreams.
Though you've said so, I think it will surprise you when the sun finnally DOES come up...and one day, it will.

Oh, SNM!!! This was freaking INCREDIBLE!!!!
My due apologies for not returning soon enough to your
page. Damn, girl! I wish I had the will to express the way
you so effortlessly can. Tis a gift, sweet SNM.
And I so relate to these words. I could get lost in them.
.....until the sun ascends
Spectacularrifical!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(how's that for making words up?)
Take a bow and feel the immeasurable and undying applause you so deserve!
Amazing!

~Breezy

"Never though, do hearts pretend"

*smiles*

Emotionally warm and courageous . . . it has the hue of a wintry sunrise, I think . . .

Oh hunni...
I think...I will read this, over and over again, and keep coming back to it, it is so sad, but so beautiful.
I know how you've been feeling lately, and I hope that tomorrows sun shines bright for you and that the nights are short.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go and read this again.

I could fall into your words.
*hugs you tons and tons*

I think this was terrific. I enjoy your work more often than i say - and just wanted to stop here to let you know that this one, today, made me stop, and re read - The best of poetry is that you can read again and again and find new meaning in each worn word.

Thanks for writing

Every word, every line, every nuance of this poem is so.....so very breathtaking. You know I think I read this one about ten times tonight.

I know you wrote this a long time ago and I think you still know that tomorrow the sun will ascend.

*huge random hug anyway* K? :-)

*off topic*

Here's a bit of trivia for ya'...you posted this on my sister's birthday.

What does that have to do with anything? Maybe nothing. Yeah, probably nothing....but seeing that line Tomorrow, I know, the sun ascends hope....Snemmers...hope.

Timbo
(who is still trying to hang on to "hope" for many different reasons. One of them being Debbie but still many other hopes dancing around out there)
