with a mind full of hope, and a smile,
that could light up your world,
in the darkest of times.

Stand by him you'll feel invincible,
like defeat isn't even existent,
And if you ever had the need for crying,
he'd just stay right there beside you.

But I lost all hope in those feelings,
that day that I received the news.
That my best friend was killed in combat,
immense loss of blood, and letter in pocket.

"Watching the stars, thinking of you,
miles away but your love gets me through.
Shots fire passed but I think to myself;
I know, I know... I'll be home soon.

I have a week left, baby...
And I have a request of you,
It's been eating at me day and night,
I need you, want you.. to be my one and only.

So think of me please,
and when I get home you'll see,
I'll be down on my knees,

I love you."

-Miss him.

I stand by his grave and feel invincible,
like he's holding me up, holding strong.
And I feel his love, and hear his laughter...
in the winds every beautiful song,

and that helps me go on.

He died for his country, to protect us,
And he'll always be remembered.

Strong, full of will, and desire,
with a mind full of hope, and a smile...
That lit up my world in the darkest times,

"I love you too."
