[title] => Prophecy of My Wedding Toast
[time] => 2004-10-20 07:24:42
[hometext] => Surprising who my Wedding Toast goes to!
[bodytext] => Standing in my pearl white dress, I look upon my siblings and mother When I look upon my Mom, A tear travels down my cheek My toast is not for my husband, But for my mother... Center the light please On the woman who made it happen The one who raised us all From the oldest, right down to the baby, Me. Never once giving up on any of us For 40 something years and here we are Through all the beautiful days and the dark ones Remembering how she'd always remind us "I would do it all over again" Even if she had to.... Accept that the first wanted to quit school to get a job Go half crazy when the second decided to jump off The top of the roof with an umbrella...'Mr. Mary Poppins' The third who always seemed to leave on his on Even though he was only 4 years old ..He wanted a coke! The first girl..The fourth child who'd swing from the kitchen table, Even after Mom repeatedly told her not to. The fifth boy who smoked in the back room.. when she asked... He answered "yes" and she replyed "OH! STOP LYING!" The sixth who would never listen when she was being told She drove her car too much Right down to the seventh child, Me, who couldn't drive well "She won't drive until she's 21, I guess" Mom said, giggling... "I'd do it all again" My definition of true love, is you, Mom. You've loved us all...Guided us as well and as far as you could. Helped in whatever way...you would It ends with me ... the line of children And without you, I would never be at this point I would have never found this man, I would have never knew what real love is. I owe you my life, my world, my everything. You are my everything. "Thank You, Mom, I love You" Now all the kids are standing, in applause for my Mom The first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh. We love you, Mom [comments] => 3 [counter] => 212 [topic] => 35 [informant] => PoeticMystery [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => SpecialOccassion )
