Deep red flows through your veins like these colours on the floor
Such beauty as this has always been here
It’s just I’ve never noticed it before

The wind whispers your name, envelops my senses
I walk in a daze; sunlight warms my once frozen skin
Patchwork scars seem so insignificant, your soul opens up
And slowly, suddenly, I fall in

And being drawn to you, is so beautiful
Somewhere, somehow, I know nothing but how to love you
I crush golden secrets into nothing, inhale their dust
This rush I’m on, it feels just like you

Branches outstretched reach for freedom
Your fingers clutch and beckon to me
I walk, stumbling, uncertain but desperate
Begging for your heart to swallow me

I long to lay with you
I want for nothing other than to kiss your skin
These autumn days stir memories buried so deep
I know you in my soul, we have met before

Breathe out, my darling, let your pain escape
Crushed leaves will teach you how to breathe in

This is a lovely write...
Exquisite and enchanting.

It has words that cast spells, and weave magic, that run deep into life...words that speak more than mere words can.

beautiful.

"I crush golden secrets into nothing, inhale their dust"

that line and too many others to list really captured and conveyed the aura of the season. far far beyond "well written".

oh Lu.. you have no idea how much i love this poem. i love it more than your last. it has so much emotion, so much depth to it. it's so beautiful. I love this:
Patchwork scars seem so insignificant, your soul opens up
And slowly, suddenly, I fall in
but my favourite part has to be the ending, reflecting the whole theme. its wonderful.
