though its been many a year;
I remember this dream; I saw a man,
it filled my heart with fear.

Those woeful sighs and urgent cries,
I tried to shield my ears;
He was sinking into a fearful pit,
while I dreadingly drew near.

There was no friend to help him,
I looked everywhere.
To the world he was unnoticed,
they didn't even care.

Smoke and heat came from the pit,
and moans out echoed too.
I shuttered at such misery,
didn't know what to do.

I could not move to give him aid,
no matter how I tried.
He lost his hold, and began to go,
as I looked him in the eye.

In horror then, recognition came,
oh' it was me I saw.
I was that man, he was I,
a breath I couldn't draw.

I awoke in shock, slid off the bed,
cried to the Lord above:
"Save me Lord, have mercy Lord,
with your redeaming love"

A sweet calmness overcame me,
the horror left me too;
I came to love that dream - from God,
Could it be help for you?

Seems some peace was needed.......I think we all have that from time to time.......whether it be with our selves, or something that was close to us.

Lionel, I think most of us come to this point at some time in our lives. I am there now. I need God to save me because I cannot save myself. Hopefully he will answer me too.

Thank you posting this. Think all mankind should have a dream like this. It is the only answer to our dispair in this troubled world
