Array ( [sid] => 63667 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => The Garden [time] => 2004-09-14 01:00:42 [hometext] => [bodytext] => To God, each dream is precious. Too soon we give up on our dreams, when He wants us to believe and hold on.
And walk with Him into the wonderful plans He has for us.
'Now to him who is able to do immeasurably
more than all we ask or imagine,
according to His power that is at work within us...'

A fistful of dreams tied with hope’s ribbon…
keep them on the table by the bay-window,
where sunshine can touch and nourish,
where all the winds drift in with stories,
where raindrops make them shiver,
and the moonlight makes them gleam.

And when some evening seems faded
and it’s colours seem dulled by trouble,
pull up a chair beside that old table,
gaze upon all the colours of your dreams,
bend and breath in their pure fragrance,
reach out and pick the sweetest one.

See how different it is from every other…
it’s a wonder- no two are quite the same,
touch it softly, let it speak to your fingers
and whisper some sweet secret to your heart,
hold it with tenderness, love it with a passion,
go down on your knees and cover it with a prayer.

Carry it close in your pocket, close to your soul,
don’t be afraid that it’ll wither in the cold.
don’t let it slip away when the winds are rough,
don’t let it get lost, when it gets too dark.
for there is Someone who’s very touch…
keeps it growing, keeps it safe and warm.

There is a new land you have to find
and there’s hard work to be put in…
so gather all the seeds of your dreams
and the crystal waters of faith to fill
the land that seems all barren and dry.
Toil on, though the days be long and weary.

And one early dawn, you’ll wake up to a blue
jay’s call and the laughter of a brook running free.
Open the door and you’ll walk into a garden
of deep red roses and pure lilies-of-the-valley
and a million rich blossoms you’ve never seen,
a place where warm sunshine and shadows play.

There’ll be a soft shower falling and you’ll wonder
was it just your two hands that planted this garden…
surely it was Someone else who made it grow,
made it live and breath with His precious love
who lets your heart-songs play in the golden air.
He’ll be so near, you’ll feel the warmth of His smile
as you hold His strong, gentle hand in yours.

Together…He and you built this garden
and it all began… with a dream and a prayer.

It is indeed His hand that guides us, that leads us on the right path. Our dreams are fullfilled through His love and grace. Awesome poem, spoke to my heart and soul.
Take care.

There is so much wisdom to this, I cannot quite think of what to say! This is a consummate poem, and definitely one of your best. It went straight to the marrow, for I too believe this about dreams. May your every one be blessed.
