living lives of regret
Lives above means and extravagant things
hoping the moping forget.
Silver chills and demoralized ills
watching silence stand in the corner
The crazies are yelling
the souless are jelling
the story too compelling to tell.
The senses have shifted
the spirits need lifted
by masses
that can't hold their heads
A whisper in distance
of subtle resistance
a chaotic slap in the face.
As objects crawl nearer
the flames of our fear
burn the casual tear
and stand up
to wait for the rain.
Will the dance be done?
Will the war be won?
Will the red fear have its way once more?
The longer I live
The stronger I give

i don't really do rhyming poetry. but i did like this, especially these lines.

a chaotic slap in the face.
As objects crawl nearer
the flames of our fear
burn the casual tear
and stand up
to wait for the rain.
