~~~
I arrived home on a Thursday
At the beginning of the week
On a beautiful sunny day
I parked beside a creek
That was overflowing from the rain
That was coming from the sun
I pushed on the gas
As my feet started to run
Once I reached the front door
I rang the doorbell then walked on in
Soaked and wet, I was upset
But on my face there was a grin
My dog hugged me hi
My wife licked my face
For a moment I asked myself
Am I in the right place?
Sat down to watch the radio
With a hot glass of lemonade
My ears were feeling tired
So into dreamland I sorta fade
I was awoken by a noise
That was coming from outside
So quickly to the window
I tried to hide
I open up the drape
Turned the knob and gave a tug
The air was really chilly
So I covered up with the rug
What a bad day I was having
My wife could not deny
If tomorrow wasn’t the weekend
I think I would just cry
So I’ll put on my clothes
And go take a bath
As to when I took back on it tomorrow
I’ll have a good cry and a good laugh.
