But the dreams I dont wish to reach
I fear them so, with hateful contempt
Of all the dreams I dream, and sleep that's been spent.

I fear those dreams, so full of disgust
I feel I must stay awake, I must
Through coffee and nicotine, I use
This is the best an insomniac can use.

These dreams, they plague me, and torture my ragged soul
So much rest I lose, in the morning, I tally up the damages toll
It's starting to get to me, I can feel it in my bones
This painful rest of endless nightmares, I wish for it to leave me alone.

I remember the times when my dreams were so calm
I dreamt of things so pleasant, but now they're gone
I sometimes wonder where they went
And the good memories that I had, and the times that I had spent

But now, my dreams, so riddled with fear
I'm afraid to sleep, I cant keep my dreams clear
These things that show up, are not invited
I wake up angry, bitter, and spited

How much longer would I have to endure
What would I need to do, to ensure
That when I lye down to sleep at night
I wont have to worry about the endless fright.

Damn nightmares.........I'll kill them if I have to...!!!! this write was sad I can relate with this one.

Each night I try to sleep, the best I can
But the dreams I dont wish to reach
I fear them so, with hateful contempt
Of all the dreams I dream, and sleep that's been spent.

These dreams, they plague me, and torture my ragged soul
So much rest I lose, in the morning, I tally up the damages toll
It's starting to get to me, I can feel it in my bones
This painful rest of endless nightmares, I wish for it to leave me alone.

thanks for sharing this poem

Brandy

I loved this poem, and you know why? Because this also plagues me. You kind of just wrote about what is haunting me recently. I have had such a bad couple of weeks of sleep. it sucks!!!!! Thankyou for posting this!!!!
