Furnishing me with dipping emotions,
I reminisce on the million days ago,
When your eyes held my breath,
And I fell in love.

Pride interrupted the wishful thinking,
Feeling were locked within the empty soul,
I secured every inch of it,
For I feared my greatest fall,
And then you went away.

Unspoken words clung on to me,
They lingered around taunting me,
On what could have been,
What never existed,
And behind closed eyes I slept in regret.

Once in a while, I do pause,
To torcher my sanity with glimpses of you,
To magnify the distances,
Between my broken body and your presence,
And I cry bitter tears.

Why do these images invade me?
When I've cleansed myself of the past,
When I've finally moved on,
Or have I really?
And I realize, I'm still in love with you.

So beautifully written. Love cannot always be controlled as much as we would sometimes like too. The heart wants what it wants.

One sometimes wonders...are these loves that are lost only to be pieces of the better whole we are building to achieve...

Beautiful poem, thank you for sharing.

Oh My how I love this poem Blueheart. How many times do tell our head, that it is all over, and we aren't going to even thing of it anymore!!!Then suddenly our heart begins to beat over and over......we are emerged in our sorrow......tears of death, and regret!
This poem was exceptional in every way!
Even blocking it from your mind......won't keep it away!
Excellent, and please let me say......how very sorry I am dear
Hugs.

Strange is it not.. that decisions of the past can come back to haunt us. Like many things associated with furious passion love has this nasty habit of creeping up on you. It is perhaps true that love can be put away but can never be put out, an undying flame if you will. A nice write telling of a tale that is quite common throughout. You might moved on but your heart is always your own..with all its wounds and tales of past turns.
