My memory's coming back again
As fast as it left me long ago
I'm missing what we had back then.

I thought it was over
I thought it was done
Almost convinced myself
That those feelings were gone.

My mind's still replaying
The dance we danced for hours
Until I fell tired into your arms
And succumbed to your power.

Your grip was so strong
Thought you held me too tight
Now I wish you would hold me
Like you held me that night.

I never quite gave you all of me
We were never quite as close as you wanted to be
There was always a piece I kept inside
More out of fear than out of pride.

Now I have to hold myself back
I can't let this flame grow into a fire
I know that if I held you again
I'd let you have your every desire. [comments] => 2 [counter] => 161 [topic] => 24 [informant] => comfortablynumb [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LoveRemembered )

This is a really great poem! i can complete understand not being able to give all of yourself to someone, you run the risk of being pushed into the ground. keep up the good work!

You've done well portraying the mixed feelings bottled up inside once you've lost something you wish you'd never have let go to begin with. Keep on writing!
Angel always...joni
