Array ( [sid] => 53847 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Vicious circle [time] => 2004-06-26 22:08:12 [hometext] => I was so sick of writers block that i had to write something...anything...so here it is. Its a bit rubbish, but what do you expect? lol. At least i feel slightly better. This has no rhyme or anything..just a collection of thoughts... [bodytext] => How do you explain something that seems so simple,
Yet is understood to be so hard?
And push it away while grasping it with both hands
As if to lose it would be to lose part of yourself,
While holding on to the realization that what you truly want is right in front of you,
But is still so far away, too far away to cling onto,
And all you really want to do is hold on as if life depended on it...
But are too afraid to even reach for it in case it turns and runs away,
To leave you crumbling to the ground,
While life looks on and laughs,
And you have nothing...

Then your hope slowly dissolves...each rejection a raging blow,
Until you start to realize you will never get What you have so desperatly wished for for so long,
And the grip with which you hold onto your hope starts to fail,
And the tears start to fall,
As you notice that everyone has gone and you are holding onto nothing but stone...
The laughter is not the sound of life looking on,
It is your fear telling you how you should never have bothered,
And you never do again, because no one could love someone like you.

Until you find yourself once again. [comments] => 8 [counter] => 170 [topic] => 61 [informant] => lostinmyself [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 25 [ratings] => 6 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => selfstruggles )

Philly, you will love and be loved and until that time we are here for you. Your heart and soul are too beautiful not to catch some mans attention who will love you madly and forever. Never fear love, only be careful about the lovers.

Huge hugs,
Rita

I'm not too big on free verse, but this made me turn around and say,
"Whoa! Lost my skivies!"
It's great, thank you for, well, helping me like free verse more. It's a great poem.
