trudge through the Forest Of Thorns
stumble through the Field Of Knives
you will be drawn to a horrible place
you are pulled in by the forces of The Wall Of Sleep
a place dreaded by all
behind The Wall Of Sleep is a ruddy atmosphere full of fear, darkness, and death
and midnight horrors that can not be described
there is no Major, only Minor
surrounded by a moat of the blackest oil
protected by a fence of fire, composed of bones for sticks, and blood for flames
The Wall Of Sleep draws its victims in through a drawbridge of glass eyes
because They want you
names unmentionable, forbidden to be spoken
what's left of their eyes has all been glazed over
their minds have been poisoned with sulfur and cionide
and you can't talk those out of power after they've been packed up in a syringe
you know They want you
so They pull you in
off you go

~ * ~

you must not look at them
you must remember
or else you too will be poisoned
They make you wander a mile East
you must not look
They destroy you with a moving ceiling of jagged daggers
you can hear them breathing in and out the particles of ashes
don't look
They slowly try to kill you with spiked bullets until you cry for mercy
you better cry
but don't look
They don't care who you are
They don't care about anything
their souls are forever bound to Hell by chains of hot iron
They will take with them anyone They please
you realize They are looking at you again
don't you dare....
each carrying a shard....
don't look!....
each carrying a shard of glass....
damn it, don't look!
all at once They make the holes in your back and in your head
in your bones and in your soul
you scream until your throat begins to bleed
your screams cause their ears to crumble
They start to forget about you
you dash for the drawbridge and make it safely

~ * ~

you are a free bird again
your wings have ceased their melting
you can be free again
float over the Field Of Knives
glide through the Forest Of Thorns
soar above the acid fog
now fly away from The Wall Of Sleep
look down; look back
you can see your friend making their journey through the acid fog....
no!
don't look!....
your friend is entering the Forest Of Thorns....
don't look!....
can you hear me?
don't you....
damn it, don't look! [comments] => 0 [counter] => 155 [topic] => 13 [informant] => LittleWillow [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => DarkPoetry )
