Will I see the waves of life and the smile of early dawn,
will the earth crumble at my feet?
The robin skipping in search of food on my dry lawn,
as the light of day is in retreat.
I am within a shell of feelings and shivers of denial,
unreal and yet I sense the quiet of day.
A distant sound I heard, spinning downward in a spiral,
my eye's straining to see the last of the sun's ray.
Time is but a word spoken when the clock begins to strike
and is lost with each passing breath I take.
The moon does not want to shine on me this lonely night,
but the robin does not his duty forsake.
As I search the space that around me is mystified
and no answers are for me to be found.
My mind must be open to it's need to be satisfied,
and the robin... found his reward, in the ground.
