There is rain and lightening all around

The wind whips the trees violently
My curiosity takes me completely

I put on my shoes to head out into the night
Not sure if I am trembling from excitement or fright

I open the door into the cool dark air
And for a moment I hesitate standing there

I step out into the pouring abyss
Wonder if I go will this life I miss

Farther I stray from the safety of cover
My heart racing as if I were with my lover

The rain is hitting me hard and cold
And I think so much for getting old

I hear the sound of a strong wind
As a tree falls I become pinned

As the sky flashes I look upon my death
And smile cynically with my last dying breath

I can relate to this...especially the part about feeling called out in the night. I often feel that way. Another interesting and full write.
