We all have them…those little gems in life,
Often very personal…yet inwardly make us glow.
In this world where we stumble in the mists of pain,
They are a panacea…delights that make the soul grow.

Like a heart that will deeply feel another’s pain,
On the roof late at night…soft gentle rain.
Freshly mown grass…ah that so fragrant perfume,
To sit by a log fire…and gaze at a cold winter moon.

Fleeting and so delicate...they are indeed moments to savour.
In a world of bitterness…a remarkably refreshing flavour.
Urgencies can intrude…and busyness exacts an awful toll.
Pleasant serendipitous times…so beneficial for the soul.

Like a toddler falling asleep in the comfort of your arms,
Like the glint in the eye…of your lover surrendering to your charms.
Being able to trust and rely on the integrity of a friend,
A message of love and a card…that you just have to send.

Of great worth and value are these moments indeed,
A brief pause…where the true soul can be unlocked and freed.
So many distractions…time is in short supply,
We all delight in these times…not one of us dare deny.

Like the warmth in the heart…of meeting a long lost friend,
When at your worst…on a certain someone you can depend.
A sunset of incredible majesty…to just sit and draw in,
Those moments when your soul…wears a warming grin.

They may vary from person to person…we long for them,
They are deeply personal…moments of deep inner joy.
Unpredictable moments when the often mute soul can sing,
True intangible beauty…moments the heart does employ.
