Shared many things and watched how he had grown,
They used to be so close and get along great,
But now his son sends him messages of pure hate.

I hope that they can repair some of the damage that has been done,
Because to watch a loving Father and son go to war is no fun,
What once was treasured and precious has now shattered,
All his efforts and his offer of a truce lay in tatters.

It must cut him so deep, like a killers knife,
Why can’t he have happiness with me and a son in his life?
His son’s anger and hate is tearing him up inside,
He must feel like a part of him has long since died.

This war is fuelled by hurt, hate, anger and pain,
And I’m not sure that they will share what they did once again,
I wish that there was something I could do,
To stop them both from what they are being put through.

I can’t believe things have gone so far,
As time goes by, their insides will share a similar scar,
Nothing should come in between a bond so strong,
But I refuse to be made to feel like our love is wrong.

They are divided just like a class room sum,
Is this a chapter in life that they will be able to eventually overcome?
Will they one day be able to meet in the middle
To put an end to this cruel and painful riddle.

I try to keep myself calm and neutral,
But it is hard when his sons actions and words are so brutal,
But I just have to sit back and let nature takes it’s course,
As the love/hate relationship is a very powerful force.

I love my boyfriend, Mark with all my heart,
It’s killing me watching him being torn apart,
But he hides his feelings behind a smile,
I know that it has been ripping him to shreds for awhile.

If only there was some quick solution,
To this sheer awfulness and confusion,
This is a fight that has pained all since it begun,
This painful fight is between a loving father who is hated by his son. How sad for a father and son to be at loggerheads. It was probably some stupid little thing that caused them to row in the first place. Hope they make it up soon. Good poem Trixie I enjoyed my read.

oh, so, so sad. i really hope that some sense will enter the 'equation' soon. i'm sure it'll never be soon enough, though. patience and love is the only method for a solution. don't ever let words and anger be a factor in love... they just do not fit. life is a circle and all will come around, ultimately. a beautiful and descriptive write.
my thanks for sharing
