Purging thoughts so we may sleep at night
Soldiers of the word are we
Fighting! Fighting! against monotony
Throughout the day, you’ll find a sage
Dropping words here upon the page
Oh! And how lucky we shall be
To have a glimpse and sometimes see
The dreams, the pain - pulled from within
So as your next piece you begin
Know that this reader is open to
Anything that may come from you
The themes may vary, this is true
A true reflection, I should say, of you
Be it lovely, sad or cheery
Dark and pained or even weary
I read the lines that you put forth
Seriously now, for all it’s worth
I thank you for haven taken the time
And dare not question a single line
Tho’ Love runs rampant through this site
Whether now gone or perfectly right
Some have written about Death here too
Like many of the best would often do
The topic may be unsettling, I suspect
But Poet friend, don’t you regret!
It’s better here in written verse
Than trapped inside – that is the worst!
So write my friends, just let it flow
And know that there is a place to go
Should inspiration flee one day
Have a look at what the others say
My Dear Poet – so honest and true
I celebrate you for what you do! [comments] => 21 [counter] => 279 [topic] => 69 [informant] => Silent-No-More [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 48 [ratings] => 10 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => poets )

Beautiful poem addressed to all. I also love this poem because it is soo true of how we all come here writing different concepts, even of other worlds but we still share one thing. We come here to express our inner selves. I love the line

It’s better here in written verse
Than trapped inside – that is the worst

very good
Kisses,
~Soulless~

You captured my sentiments very nicely and in a different way. That's what makes poetry such a wonderful form of expression. Everyone sees the world differently. Very well done...Mike

I was looking for the poem you said about, and I saw this and just had to read.

I love this Snem, it echo's a lot of what I myself have thought/felt before. Yet you have said it way better than I ever could.

Great write sweetie,
*hugs* Phil xxx

Wow! No one will ever find a more sincere or poignant welcome mat laid down before them than this masterpiece! This is as inspired as I have ever been when reading a poem. I can only imagine the thought and work that went into this piece. I thank you for this, Snemmy.
You are a poetic genius!
Butch
