of the past,
but with that sweetness
comes a sadness.

Though it no longer exists,
there used to be a feeling,
a feeling of wanting something,
but I never received it.

I no longer need
or desire it,
but what's come about
has reminded me of it.

A smile emerges on my face-
looking as happy as can be,
but it's really just entwined
with a certain hate,
maybe even jealousy.

It's not mine to have,
I don't even want it anymore,
but what you've done
is cold and unfair.

It's like breaking an unwritten law,
and you've proved to me
that you have no feelings at all.

I don't care to make
a fuss out of this,
or cry and whine
and throw a fit-
it's really not such
a horrible thing,
but it stings me
just a tiny bit.

I'll be fine,
this embitterment will only last
for a short time-
but you must see,
what you've done has
brought up a sadness in me.

If you're truly blind
to what I feel,
then you really are
what I've always thought...

I've never trusted
or deeply cared for you,
and now I never will.
