Array ( [sid] => 46264 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Lost & Found [time] => 2004-05-05 06:36:53 [hometext] => My very simple philosophy, no matter how apocryphal, is that you only lose as much as you find, and vice versa. [bodytext] => Prologue...

Everything lost is meant to be found,
Be it money or love or hope when your down
Making its entrance when expected the least,
A surprise in a pocket or a thump in your breast.

Ist Act...

My heart was a sparrow held fast in a cage,
Its song and its flight stilled by loss and by age
I thought life was the millstone on which I was ground,
But everything depleted will someday abound.

When our paths intersected on that cold Winter's day,
And you cast me a glance that didn't push me away
When my heart stretched its wings and found yours in like flight,
I realised all things in darkness are returned to the light.

2nd Act...

As we took our first steps on that path made for two,
And imbibed of the nectar shared by so precious few
When we fused body and soul that made the earth shook,
I felt drawn to the abyss with one lingering look.

3rd Act...

But then passions abated and love's light did wane,
And the pleasures of flesh became spiritual pain
What once was so easy had become such a task,
Where did our love go? was all we could ask.

I thought I had lost you, there on the street,
As you averted your eyes and shuffled your feet
As we said our goodbyes to that we desire,
But restinction can never quell all of the fire.

4th Act...

We were merely searching for that moment in time,
When our chance encounter brought forth the divine
When the world was re-coloured by that very first kiss,
And the burden of living was transformed to bliss.

When you found it years later and returned to that place,
Where our lives intersected and blessed their good grace
When you saw me still waiting in that lover's new dawn,
You knew all that has died would again be reborn.

Epilogue...

Nothing is forever, but yet nothing is gone,
It abides in a place where it waits its return
We all spend a time, above and below ground,
Yet everything lost is meant to be found.

this is... absolutely gorgeous and i would bow to you if i met you. You seem to grasp love in a way a lot of us cant, and very few of us see. Even if the ending isnt sweet like this, where paths once again cross, all that happens, lost, found, is only equal to the other. Feels goofy saying karma since i dont really have a firm belief in that, but it is the only way to explain.
all things are ment, and no things fade. we only live on and tred to another day. bravo.
