~"It hurts to forget, but it hurts more to remember."

Someday when the sun stops rising
When hopeful hearts stop enterprising
And everything's beyond surmising
Nothing seems surprising

Each day begins a heartbeat spent
While evening whispers won't relent
And longing tails where laughter went
It's too late to repent

The visions lost before your eyes
Those sunny days by cloudless skies
What memories cannot comprise
They all turn into lies

And wistful sayings plead to sleep
Begging dreams and ashen heaps
Where once they stood forever reap
The tears that sear too deep

And anedotes betray the mind
The more is see the more it blinds
A endless promise of every kind
And leaves nothing behind

Wisdom is a bless'ed curse
Soothing like the final hearse
The padded path life shan't reverse
Truth only makes it worse

So lost things never once return
As ashes never once unburn
In retrospect, those eyes so stern
But liars never learn

And when there's nowhere else to run
When it hurts to think of fun
When the lies haunt in the sun

(--Just hope no one hears your gun--)

~Epitaph of the living

5 stars for drawing this image in my mind. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this, as you know what you're doing. I'll assume the typos will be gone by the time I come back to it, as I'm wont to do with poems of yours . . .

You have so perfectly expressed a feeling that I, until reading this, had never been able to put across in words. This poem flows beyond smooth, and is alight with both wisdom and heart. And I needn't mention the rhyme...you had that mastered long ago. Another excellent work of art.

Truly,
-V.S.

I am taken away by this piece! The rhyme, the flow... the END.... absolutely amazing. Parts of this will be ringing through my mind for days to come.

Truth only makes it worse

Powerful!!!!!!!!!!! I'm rushing off to read more of your work!
