"LIFE AS YOUR HOST"

Our eyes open as we awaken to another day.
Do we take the time to really look and survey?
A few moments to observe and contemplate?
Our marvelous eyes take it all in as they dilate!

Do we hear our heartbeat? Our lungs fill?
The ability to breath a breathe of our own freewill?
Without a single command, our legs
automatically move.
No help sitting up, nor reaching with our
arms to prove.

We have hands to feel, arms to reach
out for a big hug.
Our feet hit upon the floor and between
our toes we feel the rug.
When we say our "Good Mornings" do
you hear your voice?
Try living without it, if not given the choice?

All of this taken for granted, we don't
even appreciate.....
The value of our day is cast aside,
unimportant, dead weight!
Did you smile, bring relief to another
person's pain?
Help lift their constant burden, might
they take it again?

When you joined their joy, did it double
for them?
Compassion in your heart, understanding,
never condemn?
Really living, touching, smelling, feeling,
being completely engrossed.
Giving the value of your day best of the most?
Then you have truly lived,
With Life As Your Host!

wow! as i read that i thought about all those things and nobody really does appreciate the small things in life... the things that really mean the most, but we get so used to them being there all the time that we forget about them... but there are times that we do stop to appreciate them, at least some of us do... times when we feel most free. like when we go for a walk or hike into the hills or mountains and stop to stare at the one spectacular view and take a deep breath and appretiate the real things worth living for. Or the way that one special girl or guy makes you feel inside... we feel truely alive and thats when we forget about the all the BS we have to deal with everyday. we live for those moments
