Kept apart
By rolling hills
Golden fields
For hundreds of miles
They are seperated

The distance cannot keep him
He will not stay and wait
For a dateless love
I trow
Will never be left alone
To wither
And be fair mark
To the wooing of another

She sits in waiting
By and by
He will arrive
To see the one he loves
In all her vestal modesty
She thinks

Held back he is
Forsworn
Made so by the small things
No money for him
No car to take him to his love
No longer can he burn this daylight

He tells her it is over
His heart
Heavy and sore
For many months
He longed for her
Wondering
Wast thou longing too for him?
A fond thought that was
He knew what he thought be true
She was always waiting there
For him to come
For them to be together

When the last goodbye was uttered
He turned unto the beast
Who ran its metal bite
The deadly teeth of death
Right through his leftside temple

Hearing of such woeful news
She knew there was no merit bliss
Despairing
She cut her soul
With the stainless steel
Bleeding on the Earth
Distraught?
No
Merely in pain
As she lay dying on the floor

Green in Earth
They both now lie
Together in a better place

Dying for each other
Dying for true love
