We were childhood friends
we didn't have to go
very far to visit eachother,
I was only a few years
older then you,
but I thought of you
as my little sister.

I remember when
we used to take turns
swinging frantically on
the tree swing outside,
my two brothers
and your younger sister,
went in and out
of the playhouse
playing hide and go seek.

We used to play fetch
with your dog Susie,
we laughed while she
ran wildly around the yard,
she was a cute
looking dog and I know
you loved her with your heart.

My two younger brothers,
your little sister,
you and I,
all hung around eachother,
we used to look forward
to sitting outside
in the hot summer sun
and have picnics.

I miss you
my dear friend,
there's not a day
that goes by that...
I don't think of you.

I hope God is holding
you tight and taking
very good care of you,
so that one day...
we can meet face to face
in Heaven,
and be friends again.
