She’s humble to her compliments, accepts them with a nod

I thought I had a talent and then she walked through the door
She opens up her mouth and my heart sinks to the floor

Belting out a gospel chorus, a beauty to behold
Midas must have grazed her for she shines brighter than gold

Envious are everyone that feast upon her sight
An asset to her loveliness, her voice is pure delight

When the nerves encompass her nobody quite knows why
For she sings just like an angel with scarce a hint to try

I’ll tell her of the day I knew she had my everything
For my first wish above all else is simply the gift to sing

She’ll never quite believe me and she doesn’t think it’s true
But Lorelei Amaya, I just wish I could be you

She takes a breath and hugs us all as she walks out to the stage
A lump rises into my throat and the feeling’s hard to gage

Lorelei Amaya serenades a feisty song
As her eyes flicker like lightning ‘cause she isn’t quite that strong

For the music is like thunder in its echoes as it rolls
The power of such rhapsody is embedded into souls

The wind thrashes about her to galvanize her dress and hair
The siren’s impetuous passion saturates the room with flair

Lorelei Amaya breezes in and breezes out
It’s girls like her who just don’t see what they can bring about

I wish I were like Lorelei for music is my life
But all I’ll do is struggle with frustrating, painful strife

Maybe what I’m here to do is write the melody
The one that Lorelei can sing to set the music free

Perhaps in time I’ll find my voice and I can sing out too
Until then I’ll be inspired by the ones that are like you [comments] => 5 [counter] => 208 [topic] => 55 [informant] => liquidsunshine [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 14 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => dedicatedpoems )

awwww beautiful. i wonder if she realises how amazing you think she is. she sounds like a wonderful person, but you do too, and I think you're maybe a lot more grounded and aware of what everyone else is feeling than her.
well done anyway lol

This is a captivating description.

"For she sings just like an angel with scarce a hint to try"

I'd wager she can't write rhyme as good as this. And yes - I think you could write a good song for her - and may it be a beautiful thing.

FANTASTIC! What a wonderful testimony!
I love this. You are a special young woman. I didn't know you sang. My daughter sings, too. She has a recital today. BRAVO to you!
