Refreshed at dawn each day?
Do you see that I'm a perfectionist,
That I always strive to do my best,
Or do you overlook me
Until my life is a complete mess?
Will you be there to hold my hand
When I need someone to care
And still know that I need my space --
You don't always have to be there?
What is it that you first notice

And tomorrow when you know all the truth --

What is it that you first notice
When you look at me?
What is it that makes you linger --
What is it that you see?
Am I your blank canvas
And you can see anyone there?
Or do you really notice who I am
When you stop to stare?
Do you see the pain I've felt,
Or the hurt I've stored away?
Or do you see the mask I wear
Refreshed at dawn each day?
Do you see that I'm a perfectionist,
That I always strive to do my best,

I really enjoyed this one, quite a deep poem just the way i like them. Very hard to see behind the masks alot of people wear.

I loved reading this, there's so much truth in here - I'm sure a lot of people worry about whether people will accept them once they know everything about them. Well done, this was excellent.

I often wonder if people look beneath my skin. This brought the question to my mind. So many questions in your poem and you really got my brain to fire this morning and believe me I needed it! Thank you for sharing this with us... Kie
