I’m way too young to know the truth
You think I’ll never realize
That to the world I’ve closed my eyes
But I’m in love, I really am
You say we can’t; it’s all a sham
I cherish him, We cherish us
And still you’re making such a fuss
You didn’t know that we accept
You haven’t seen how much we’ve wept
We know these days might come to end
And knowing this, we shall contend
Until it comes we’ll just enjoy
Because you see, I love this boy
I understand I broke his heart
Over the time we spent apart
I know that we are still in school
That this is why you call me “Fool”
But I’ve explained to him just this
As well, I know that we will miss
The times we shared if I must leave
That if I do he’ll briefly grieve
He promised me he’d be okay
That he wouldn’t die inside that day
He’ll go with friends and have his fun
Then his new life he’ll have begun
He promised it won’t hurt too much
And he won’t need some stupid crutch
I told him how I can’t forget
And disregard is not a threat
‘Cause if I ever let him go
Our love will still be one I know
If someone leaves, if someone’s gone
‘T won’t be as if it’s all withdrawn
If we must end, our love will fade
But we’ll stay friends, we’re not afraid
We’ve seen both sides just for incase
We’ll never forget our hearts, the ace
For now, we love, that’s all there is
His hand in mine, my hand in his
You’ve never loved, or even held
Someone, but I’m under love’s spell
You can’t tell me if we’re in love
We know what are hearts tell us of

Sunshine, This is just lovely. I remember these feelings. I married a man I met when I was about your age, and I'm still beside him today. I see a very mature attitude and a very well written poem.

I'm glad you're sticking with your heart no matter what people may say...True love is hard to find and I must say that your love seems to be a true blessing...Follow your heart,in the end it's the only thing that matters.Beautiful write Sunshine :o)

I love this one! It's awesomely written. Kind of long, but that never hurt a good poem.
Take care, and keep shining.
David
