Array ( [sid] => 409 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Egnoral [time] => 2002-07-14 15:26:40 [hometext] => For a year, I tried to get the perfect band together, only to go through guitar player after guitar player, in search of one who was both talented and dedicated. At the time of the writing of this poem, the one who seemed like he would be "the one" turned out to be a traitor just like those before him. He decided to put his other interests over the band's, and although I cannot argue against his talent, I will say that the way in which he quit our group so suddenly could've been handled differently.
Out of fits of anger and frustration emerged "Egnoral", a classic song of regret and awakening. The song recounts my bitter feud with our former member following his leave, and my refusal to place blame on him despite his ill-natured remakrs toward the rest of the group. I was not without my emotions, however, and even went so far as to say that I hoped he would burn in hell. I later retracted that statement, but the memories still linger.
In many ways, I am not proud of the way I reacted in writing this song, but I believe it was better to take my frustrations out on paper as opposed to on my family or friends. Hopefully readers can see through the seething anger and the verbal brutality of this piece of writing to the feeling and violation within, because that's where this came from, not from my inner demons. [bodytext] =>

VERSE ONE:
==========
Placing blame is cowardly so I won't
I'll just sit here and let you try and justify
What you've done and how you've turned away
For the same selfish reasons - to save yourself

There's no way to take back what you've done
So why waste your time running your mouth
Words can't make up for the actions you take
And respect for you has been replaced

CHORUS:
=======
I hope you burn in hell for this
I hope you can't sleep at night
For once in your pathetic life
You're wrong - I'm right (admit it)

VERSE TWO:
==========
Try to find a way to give it away
To place the blame on another's name
But friendship is priceless and you've thrown it aside
You've thrown it away to maintain your pride

Just like everyone else who can't sacrifice
You lied and tried to reverse the tides
But it's just your way of running away
From the fact that you're shallow - you suck

CHORUS:
=======
I hope you burn in hell for this
I hope you can't sleep at night
For once in your pathetic life
You're wrong - I'm right (admit it)

BRIDGE ONE:
===========
You thought we wouldn't mind
Kept it inside all this time
You thought we wouldn't mind
Kept it inside all this time

You thought we wouldn't mind
You must be blind
Kept it inside all this time
You must be out of your mind

BRIDGE TWO:
===========
Why wouldn't we mind - this is our life
And you've wasted our time - you've taken this knife
And pushed it through our backs and out through our hearts
Within my eyes you're the s***** of the earth

CHORUS:
=======
I hope you burn in hell for this
I hope you can't sleep at night
For once in your pathetic life
