oh, come along and take my hand
let's walk all around this charmed land,
where crystal streams flow whilst hawks fly
where here ancient oak trees touch the sky,
deer, foxes and racoons, horses galore
sunrises breathtaking beautiful to adore,
enchanting forest deep, dark and thick
in all warm seasons pretty flowers to pick,
walnuts on the branch, grapes on the vine
roses, sassafras, butterflies, frogs singin' fine,
standing in brightest sun see storming horizens
anything goes here, in our misty romantic air,
the earth here is alive, cricket song vibrant
royal blue lizards, vultures, little army ants,
fields growing corn, many things to crave
cliffs and underground our mammoth caves,
indian legends about spirits, rivers, forests
abound in this land, here we are blessed,
where wolf, eagle and rabbit live side by side
bears we've a few, even elk from them hide,
blackberries, blueberries, pines, pink dogwoods,
willows hang to the ground, nature is understood,
from one closeby high point cumberland gap is seen
daniel boone, coyotes n' bears, there have been,
roaming these woodlands, our ancestors knowing
if you listen closely, you'll hear breezes blowing.
