It is interesting my suicidal friend
You keep telling me you're going to kill
(Yourself in the end)
Well, why haven't you done so?
I've been waiting impatiently
(My nerves have broken to the extremity)
You haven't done the deed yet
Just getting attention for yourself again
All words with nothing to show
The limelight shown on the suicidal
Feelings of insecurity have bleed profusely
Life sends you images portrayed
(Of nothingness on display)

You need to find reassurance within yourself
Look to others second and never first
Consider others first and yourself last
Time taken is filled with gratitude
Facing adversity shows fortitude
Are your ready to find self worth?
Forget the past and the future
Life has just begun for you
It is a gift given to you
Why return it for imperfection's sake?
You can't cash in on something given
Freely able to be taken

I wish I could spend a few moments of praying
For the lost soul that has come to me this way
Yet I can do nothing in the least for them
Their soul has already been taken away [comments] => 4 [counter] => 151 [topic] => 36 [informant] => essentially9 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Suicide )

As to afterdark's comment. I think most people read most poems off the top of the stack. I wasn't reading that much here early on (I've only been here since sometime last spring.)

Now for the poem...
I think it's a beautiful write, E9. And true - most people that far down *have* lost their soul. I did once, but got it back again. Blessings.

This one touched me. A long time ago my mom told about our lives being given to us as a gift. I have never forgotten.
