Where once the healthy bountiful earth
Spread far and wide, gave birth so pure
There lies a violated,weeping land
Still she holds grace enough to allure

Her beauty marred but still she shines
Though trees are less, through man and fire
I stand atop this mountain's peak
Release my breath in a sigh and admire

Soft amber strokes paint the afternoon sky
The graceful drift of a hawk as she descends
A waterfall cascades like crystalline blues
Miracles anew as the day finds its end

The dance of the wild,a warm soulful breeze
Caresses, kisses my hair and is caught
It plays for a while.then grants me a smile
While gently giving flight to my thoughts

How freely I'm blessed, welcomed and held
This gift that she offers my being
Acceptance is nurturing,helping me grow
Through new eyes,I become the "all seeing"

Tranquil in mind,I now am the hawk
Feathered warmth on a backdrop of peace
Silence surrounds,a calming spreads through
As one with this mural,my soul is at ease

Freedom is mine as I take to the sky
Eyes cast to the wonders below
With breeze under wing,a journey begins
Guide me Great Spirit,I'll follow

Sounds of the spirits,cleansing,refreshing
Pools of the waterfalls essence
Circles are formed, filled with the magic
Of all that is pure, your presence

Great Spirit,so knowing,tender of touch
I give thanks to you for this flight
In the body of wonder, here on your breath
You bless me with such inner sight

As always I've seen, and still see today
The beyond of what others may see
Waters not just a body of liquid
There are more than bark and leaves to a tree

Within all that which you created
Lives a spirit,uniquly its own
All living things,especially the critters
Hold the knowledge, rarely a mans known

On the wind,Great Spirit,I hear you
Your wisdom pours forth from the skies
In all living things, you placed a spirit with wings
Yet man is self bound and can't fly

Freedoms a choice and you made it so
Yet man cripples himself with greed
I give thanks for these wings,my spirit still sings
Because Great Spirit...you're all I need

Great Spirit...
I am your daughter
Carer of all your creations
I say your name with strength and pride
You touch my days with tenderness and healing
Great Spirit...
I am on my journey to lasting freedom
Through your eyes,I see all
