looking over the land,
her father, the King
promised that one day,
the land she overlooks
will all be hers.
She had always wanted
a castle of her own,
but she was too young
to handle the work
that went along with it.
She was the only child
of the well known King,
oh how she wished
she had a brother or sister.
The Princess had friends,
but they lived so very far away,
she was lonely gazing
out of the castle window
all by herself.
She had dreams to
one day meet a Prince
to take her loneliness away.
Her father was getting old
and wanted to hand the throne
down to his only kin.
His wife had passed away
before her years and he
was always heart broken.
The King's brother murdered her,
he vowed to one day get his revenge.
One day, the King decided to
roam into town to find his brother,
his daughter pleaded with her father
not to leave the castle,
as she feared for her father's life.
The King wanted to make
his brother pay for what
he had done to his wife.
The Princess ran up to her room,
sat by the window and cried,
she didn't want to lose her father
like she lost her mother.
As she was wiping the tears
from her swollen blue eyes,
she saw someone coming up
to the castle draw bridge
on a beautiful white horse.
