Trying not to sleep
For when the sandman comes
The monsters start to creep
The nightmares race before my eyes
And I try not to scream
Because then I know I'll have to explain what is making me freak
The demon is familiar
I have seen him before
His scent, his feel, his soft features
Don't even seem like that of an evil creature's
Yet every time the sun sets
He plants himself by my side
He touches me in hurtful ways
And tries to take my pride
He calls me his little angel
And I am elated to know this is true
But if I am his precious
Why did he take my innocent youth?

It's wonderful the way you turn such a terrible subject into a poem that is essentially a beautiful piece of work. (applauds)

This broke my heart. You are so strong and brave to write about such a horrific account. No child should be subjected to this. You touched my heart and I thank you for sharing this with us. Kie
