Array ( [sid] => 36891 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => RUMS [time] => 2004-03-01 08:51:35 [hometext] => I wrote this poem for the family of my classmate that died, hopefully to comfort them, and let them know just how much we loved him. [bodytext] =>

"RUMS"

A lover of people, all sizes, shapes, shades.
A heart, beautiful loving warm colors,
never fades.
Strong mountain pine, branching
arms extended.
Like any young man, imagination,
dreams intended.

Loved by all, little children were drawn
to his affection.
Great Love for his brothers, older, younger,
n'er once shun!
Presence emulated kindness, tenderness,
exempt of anger.
Charisma, charm, others drawn to him,
"soul brightener!"

Reliever of sadness, downheartedness,
dependable, caring.
Always willing to help others with
his burden lifting.
Splendid teacher with words, we
remember his example.
No moment lost by loving others, extending
beauteous cycle.

A free spirit, gifted with joyfulness,
sunshine of the mind.
Understanding, reasonableness, open to
agreement inclined.
Thoughtful, careful never to hurt those he
loved, everyone.
Chosen to be his friend, or loved one,
privileged laden.

Raised in a small town, neighbors
always aware....
This young man stood out from others,
thoughtful welfare.
He was born to teach us compassion
of courage, bravery.
Life is a struggle, it's to be lived with honor
beautifully.

Described above, and painted in your
"mind's eye." is the man, Jesus Christ.
The Greatest Man that ever walked the
earth, life high priced.
His qualities, also your father, brother, son,
husband, uncle, cousin, friend.
Bernard J. Rumsey, better known as
"Rums" like Godsend......

Unforgettable laughter, topped with
cheer galore!
Whimsical hilarity, sunshine smiles,
humorous outpour!
A "Songbird" desiring harmony, in tune,
also in his life.
From "Don't Fence Me In" to many other
songs full of "spice!"
Marvelous dancer in Guernsey, a beer
maybe two?
Perhaps only topped, unnamed brother
now married to Sue?
The lady writing this poem remembers
"Rums" vividly.
Making happy memories each day of life,
left glowing nicely!

So, Dear "Rums" thanking you for your
gracious legacy!
A loving life lived, enjoyed, and viewed for
the whole world to see.
All your splendid memories dropped into a
Vast Deep Sea...........
When at last all found, an impossible task,
only then, t'wil you be forgotten by we!

Created especially for Bernard's family
as I extend my heartfelt sympathy
to each one of you.
With warm poetic love,
Connie Sue,
My wish for you from the Bible
Numbers 6: 24, 25, 26.

He left this world being loved and cared for by so many. This must have warmed their heart and made the loss a bit easier. To enter the gates of Heaven is a miraculous thing. I feel sure this man shook the hand of God and was warmly welcomed.
