Array ( [sid] => 36239 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => short-lived prayer [time] => 2004-02-25 02:20:59 [hometext] => about a girl and her father..a lot of my poems are about this. funny how it works. oh but i just realized i posted 'FoulPlay' on here twice. sorry for the mistake..enjoy! [bodytext] => it was a really long time ago
when my daddy went away
a different one came back
i wish the old one could have stayed
the new one looks the same
and sometimes acts the same way too
but when my mommy's gone
i know just what he'll do
he'll come upstairs and knock the door
and tell me to get out
i'll slowly walk towards the door
i hate those words he shouts
he'll scream and scream and hit me hard
i'll fall down to the floor
i'll lie there in a crumpled ball
and pray there'll be no more
then he'll stare at me with hating eyes
maybe if i pretend im dead
he'll leave me alone and go downstairs
and not put the bullet in my head
he almost did it once before
but my mommy came home in time
he quickly hid away the gun
he never did the crime
i know he'll do it again though
as soon as he gets the chance
i dont know why my daddy'd do it
its like hes in a trance
oh no, my mommys leaving
i can hear him coming up the stairs
fast i need a place to hide
i need someone who cares
lord jesus, keep my soul
please hold it very tight
i know my lifes about to end
i know this is my last night
im not sure what i ever did
to make my daddy hate me so
i tried hard to be a good girl
i just thought that you should know
im sorry i didnt eat my vegetables
but that i finished all my pie
im sorry i didnt brush my teeth
is that the reason i'll die?
oh god, i hear him knocking
now hes opening up the door
he pulls the trigger on my head
and i fall down to the floor [comments] => 2 [counter] => 306 [topic] => 32 [informant] => crimsondream [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 1 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => SadPoetry )
