Array ( [sid] => 3344 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => An Exceptional Lady! [time] => 2002-09-04 06:39:36 [hometext] => Because my mother is a very special and exceptional woman, I could not write a poem about her using the traditional images and meanings that usually describe people’s feelings towards their mothers. [bodytext] => Oh lady, wilt thou let me describe thee?
And utter the feelings that burn inside me?
Oh lady, let me tell the world about your peculiarity,
About your love…craziness…charm, and sincerity.

As much as you comfort me with your mildness,
You surprisingly shock me with your wildness.
Oh lady, at moments you seem so hard to please.
Then in a second, you suddenly feel at ease.

A sweet strange blend of contradictions. …that’s you.
Giving…irritable…soft…cruel…all can be true about you.
One day, you murmur, exaggerate, and complain.
Another day, you spread joy and heal my pain.

How can you be so tender and delirious?
How can you be so humorous and serious?
What rare mixture of wisdom and insanity lies within you!
An impossible mixture of revolution and submission is you!

Your unattainable goodness and purity,
Your irresistible honesty and clarity
Make you ascend high above our mundane triviality,
But your modesty makes you descend to our reality!

Full of extreme hilarity and vitality,
Yet blessed by utmost spirituality!
A mysterious personality made of disparity.
A lovable exceptionality of divine irregularity!

Oh loveliest mother, what is the essence of your grace?
Is it your soothing smile or your pretty innocent face?
I say it’s your never-ending love for others and true care.
I might never know! But you’ll always be my only flare!
